Georgie Studio is a place where potential is seen in just about everything.

We've always been drawn to the pieces others overlook — the silk dress with the broken zipper, the mid-century chair with tired upholstery, the tarnished and broken bracelet tucked in an estate sale jewelry box... Where others see something as too far gone, we see possibility.

¹ No place like home

Georgie Studio is physically located in Ormond Beach, Florida, yet pieced together by the world. Georgie is owned and curated by Chelsea Parsell, who grew up a stone's throw away in the Ocala National Forest. As a descendant of a Florida pioneer family and many generations of hobbyist woodworkers and seamstresses, she is drawn to organic materials and sustainable design, all of which bookmark her collections.

Georgie Studio is named after her late grandfather, George, who was a very special light to her childhood and integral to her upbringing.

² Thoughtfully acquired

Material and composition are the primary focus when curating our collections. Our clothing selections emphasize natural fibers like cotton, linen, and silk that breathe in humidity and embrace warmer climates, but most importantly, stand the test of time and use. Modern clothing as a whole has decreased in quality and increased in cost, so it is one of our core values to provide sustainable textiles that will last for years and can weather frequent wear and washing.

To that end, all synthetic fabrics are not created equal and have their place in the home, which is why you will often see that our upholstery selections have some synthetic fiber content. Anything to prolong the life of a fixture in your home is our main motivator, which is why we love natural fiber dominant fabrics with a little bit of that synthetic fiber superhero woven in to stand up to day-to-day friction, messes, and cleaning. If you ever want to get Chelsea going, ask her questions about textiles!

³ Community driven

The reason old items feel more beautiful is due to the value we used to place in trades and craftsmanship. But ultimately, we understood that good things take time. As the world has sped up, the things around us are made with less thought and in less time. If it's not obvious already, you can see that we have strong values as a small business, and one of our biggest is to support other small businesses, especially those closest to home like our local dry cleaners, jewelers, seamstresses, carpenters, upholsterers, lighting technicians, framers, interior designers, florists... the list goes on. We believe working together to make beautiful things and tend to each other's needs makes for the happiest community.

Inside our rehabilitation process:

¹ Textiles, clothing, and apparel

A garment might need repair by way of a replaced button, updated zipper, or careful alteration to suit modern proportions. We enlist the help of multiple seamstresses with specialties across all areas to revive pieces that can go on to live a second and third life.

² Jewelry

Our favorite jewelry finds are usually heavily tarnished, broken, or in need of repair. Sometimes it's something as simple as a couple missing links, or a loose gemstone standing in the way of an item being worn again, which is where we enlist the help of local professional jewelers. We are partial to sterling silver due to it's durability and accessibility, which will become quite apparent taking a quick peruse through our collection.

³ Furniture & Home Decor

A piece of furniture might require complete reupholstery, wood restoration, and/or hardware replacement. Whatever the need, we commit to doing it right by bringing in professional expertise and taking our time. We have several trusted upholsterers, while Chelsea personally refinishes the wood on all project pieces.
